Annual teacher round-up scheduled


<p>School district representatives from Arizona and other parts of the country will come to Tempe to hire teachers at ASU's 30th annual Recruiter Round-up, scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., June 2, in the Wells Fargo Arena on the Tempe campus.</p><separator></separator><p>The job market is still quite strong for teachers, and many candidates are likely to have their pick of offers, depending on their flexibility and teaching area. The event is the largest summer education job fair in the Southwest, putting job-seekers in touch with districts that have late resignations and vacant positions for this fall.</p><separator></separator><p>The event, free to all applicants, is sponsored by ASU and is open to all K-12 candidates. To date, there are districts attending from Arizona , California , New Mexico and Texas .</p><separator></separator><p>The highest demand for teachers is in special education and bilingual education, but positions will be available in all K-12 areas, including school administration and counseling.</p><separator></separator><p>Candidates should dress professionally and bring supporting documents and multiple copies of their résumés. Candidate registration begins at 8 a.m. at Wells Fargo Arena's East entrance. Free parking for candidates is available in Lot 59, northeast of the arena, and in Parking Structure 7 (on the northeast corner of Packard Drive and Sixth Street, just west of Rural Road and east of Wells Fargo Arena).</p><separator></separator><p>A list of districts and positions is available online at www.asu.edu/career, and is updated daily as new districts register for the event.
