All-America honors for football's Sutton, pair of freshman

Arizona State University senior defensive tackle Will Sutton has earned USA Today First Team All-America honors, and freshman kicker Zane Gonzalez and redshirt freshman linebacker Salamo Fiso have been named College Football News Freshman All-Americans.

Sutton has notched 157 tackles in 50 career games at ASU, and his 20.5 career sacks and 43.5 career tackles for loss rank seventh and ninth, respectively, in school history. One of five Pac-12 players on the first team, he is only the second player in conference history to be named two-time Pac-12 Pat Tillman Defensive Player of the Year.

Gonzalez, who earned College Football News Second Team All-America honors, was twice named the Pac-12 Special Teams Player of the Week this season and earned First Team All-Pac-12 honors. Fiso, a College Football News Honorable Mention All-American, ranked third on the team in total tackles, with 62.

The Sun Devils have now had four freshman All-Americans in head coach Todd Graham’s two seasons at ASU.
