Academic Bowl starts tonight: What you need to know
The 2011 ASU Academic Bowl kicks off tonight at 4 p.m., in Pima Auditorium of the Memorial Union, on the Tempe campus.
Sixteen teams, eight buzzers, five moderators and three nights of competition will end in $24,000 in prize money for the winning team of the competition.
Students, staff, faculty, alumni and the general public are invited to attend.
For those who cannot make it to the event, they can still follow the action on Twitter @asunews_insider or via the live webcast which will be streaming at asu.edu/academicbowl. The hashtag #ASUacbowl will be used for the live tweeting.
All rounds will be webcast live. The webcast will include commentary from two broadcast students from ASU's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
Live coverage will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 3-4, and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 6.
The final rounds will be broadcast on Eight, Arizona PBS at 11 p.m., Oct. 24.
