Abbott articles republished

Four articles by Professor Kenneth Abbott of the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law have been reprinted in two new edited collections of essays that define the field of international law and international relations.

Abbott’s “Modern international relations theory: A prospectus for international lawyers,” and “The concept of legalization,” on which he collaborated with Robert Keohane, Andrew Moravcsik, Anne-Marie Slaughter and Duncan Snidal, were included in Joel Trachtman’s International Law and Politics.

“The concept of legalization” also was included in a recent reprint of Global Law, edited by John J. Kirton with Jelena Madunic. In addition, that volume featured Abbott’s “Hard and soft law in international governance,” which he co-authored with Snidal.

Abbott is a Willard H. Pedrick Distinguished Research Scholar and Faculty Fellow of the Center for the Study of Law, Science, & Technology at the College of Law, and he is a Professor in the ASU School of Global Studies, where he co-directs the global environmental governance program. A leading scholar in international law, Kenneth Abbott’s teaching and research focus on the interdisciplinary study of international law and international relations, including public and private institutions, environmental issues, development policy, global health, and international trade and economic law.
