ASU Prep expands offerings to provide tuition-free middle and high school hybrid programs across Phoenix

ASU Preparatory Academy is an innovative, tuition-free public charter school network that recently expanded its offerings, meeting parents' wants and needs through a comprehensive curriculum aligned with Arizona's College and Career Ready standards, direct family involvement and one-on-one support.

The charter school network offers locations around the Valley that feature comprehensive and personalized programs, including sports and extracurricular activities that support students beyond the school day.

ASU Prep Tempe powered by the Levitt Lab is a tuition-free high school that completely redesigns the traditional high school experience by prioritizing curiosity, personalized mastery and real-world readiness over rigid grading structures. 

Co-founded in collaboration with “Freakonomics” co-author and economist Steve Levitt, the school caters to self-motivated, curious students who thrive on active discussion and self-paced learning. 

Its unique instructional model balances core academic mastery with “Wonder Sessions,” discussion-based, hands-on learning experiences designed to spark curiosity and explore big questions; Socratic seminars; and early college concurrent-enrollment opportunities through Arizona State University.

ASU Prep Digital+ at ASU's Tempe campus is a hybrid high school program designed to blend flexible online learning with an immersive, on-campus university experience.

Students attend the Tempe campus two days a week and engage in college-preparatory, project-based learning experiences.

The program gives students a competitive edge by allowing them to earn tuition-free college credits directly through ASU while building real-world, 21st-century skills.

ASU Prep Digital+ at the Tempe EnVision Center is a high-tech hybrid high school program that combines flexible learning with cutting-edge, hands-on career exploration. 

Based out of the IDIA Hive space, students have access to advanced tools like virtual reality headsets, 3D printers, robotics and podcast studios to work on real-world projects. 

The curriculum offers a two-day on-site schedule and allows students to earn tuition-free university credits through ASU.

ASU Prep Digital+ at the ASU Polytechnic campus is a hybrid high school program focused on innovation, engineering and applied sciences. 

Operating in a lab- and research-dense university environment, it blends flexible online coursework with two days a week of hands-on, project-based campus learning. 

The curriculum prepares self-motivated students for the future by offering tuition-free ASU college credits, with dedicated career pathways in high-demand fields like robotics, aviation, sustainability and advanced manufacturing.

Grades: 9–12.

ASU Prep Digital+ in downtown Phoenix is a flexible hybrid high school program that connects students to the opportunities and resources of Arizona’s urban core. 

Located on ASU’s Downtown Phoenix campus and near the Phoenix Bioscience Core, students attend campus two days per week while engaging in flexible online learning. 

Through project-based experiences and pathways in fields such as health care, public service and law, students gain early exposure to college and career opportunities while earning tuition-free ASU college credits.

Location: Mercado building, ASU Downtown campus.

Grades: 9–12.

ASU Prep Digital+ at the ASU West Valley campus is a hybrid high school program that immerses students in a vibrant, resource-dense university community.

The program blends flexible online coursework with a two-day weekly campus schedule focused on collaborative, project-based learning. 

Students are empowered to graduate with a competitive edge by exploring high-demand career pathways, working alongside university faculty and earning tuition-free ASU college credits.

ASU Prep Digital+ at ASU Prep West Valley is a hybrid learning program specifically designed for students in grades 5 through 8. 

Serving as a crucial preparatory bridge to high school, it blends three days of flexible online academic foundations with two days a week of in-person ELA and SS on campus.

The curriculum places a strong emphasis on humanities and collaborative, team-based projects to help younger students develop essential life skills like time management, goal setting and critical thinking in a supportive community environment.
