ASU Wind Bands presents 2025–26 season highlighting discovery, collaboration and artistry

This 2025–26 season, ASU Wind Bands will embark on a musical journey that bridges the past, present and future, highlighting the talents of student musicians with performances at the historic ASU Gammage venue, the Tempe Center for the Arts, Corona del Sol High School and the Chandler Center for the Arts.
"Whether at home in ASU Gammage or sharing our talents across the Valley, I am excited to collaborate with our students and faculty to bring live music to as many people as possible," said Jason Caslor, associate professor and director of bands in the School of Music, Dance and Theatre, part of the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts.
This season will allow concertgoers to explore the sweeping landscapes of the American Southwest with works like ASU alumni Michael Markowski's “Desert Sage,” and embark on a profound spiritual journey with David Maslanka's monumental “Symphony No. 7.” Siobhan Plouffe, winner of ASU's 2025 Concerto Competition, will also be featured on Fernande Decruck's “Sonata for Alto Saxophone.”
The Wind Bands’ season will also feature the talents of our renowned faculty, including Deanna Swoboda (tuba), Joe Burgstaller (trumpet), Martha Masters (guitar), Christopher Creviston (saxophone), Michael Compitello (percussion) and acclaimed collaborators Andrew Campbell and Michael Kocour on piano.
"The entire season is a testament to the power of music to tell incredible stories, and I cannot wait to be a part of it," said Jamal Duncan, assistant professor and associate director of bands.
With groundbreaking new works from composers Nicole Piunno, Henry Dorn, Andrew David Perkins, Dylan French and ASU’s Spencer Arias, alongside timeless classics by Tchaikovsky, Sousa, Brahms and Dello Joio, ASU Wind Bands celebrates a season of discovery, collaboration and unparalleled artistry.
ASU Wind Bands consists of four ensembles: the Wind Ensemble, Wind Symphony, Maroon and Gold Band and Chamber Winds.
