The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Arizona State University is adding six new programs for students to grow their experience and gain the necessary skills to successfully navigate the job market. This fall’s lineup includes additions to the ASU Online catalog as well as updated graduate level degree programs, among other new offerings at The College, the academic heart of the university.

“We are continuously looking for ways to evolve and champion our students’ career endeavors. The College’s new programs this year further reflect our commitment to provide world-class learning opportunities to set our students up to succeed in a wide range of careers,” said Kenro Kusumi, senior vice provost and dean of The College.

The College currently offers over 100 undergraduate degrees and over 150 graduate degrees, 79 of which are available in online formats — the most at ASU. With the mission of educating the next generation in the power of language, culture and society, critical thinking, scientific exploration and discovery, The College continues to make learning more accessible across the world through additional programs to choose from.

Take a look at the newest programs in The College.

BS in data science (chemistry and biochemistry): On-campus and online students in the data science program can now add the chemistry and biochemistry track to their degree. Those in this new track will be able to study linear algebra, statistical inference and classification, data mining, machine learning and associated computer methods in the context of the molecular sciences, laying the groundwork for successful careers in fields such as health care and biotechnology.

Minor in neuroscience: Available to both on-campus and online students, the minor in neuroscience offers the ability to gain a deeper understanding of the different areas of brain function ranging from emotion to social relations. Offered through the Department of Psychology, students will participate in an interdisciplinary exploration of the nervous system by combining studies of psychology and biology.

Undergraduate certificate in analysis and management of insurance risk: New to the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences’ online catalog, the certificate in analysis and management of insurance risk further extends the school’s presence as a leader in the actuarial sciences. Students will learn how to become well-rounded assessors of risk, monitoring the probability and impact of unfortunate events.

MA in Spanish: Online students can now pursue a Master of Arts degree in Spanish out of the School of International Letters and Cultures. Offering a deeper understanding of literature, language, teaching methods and cultural expressions ranging from Spain to Latin America, the program helps students gain crucial insights and skill sets to support careers in business, communication, government and more.

MA in museum studies: Offered through the School of Human Evolution and Social Change, the Master of Arts degree in museum studies is available for on-campus students and has been revitalized for fall 2025. Built to inform and train students on ethical and legal considerations around collections care, cultural resource compliance and collaboration with descendant communities, the program ensures an understanding of the significance of museums in today’s society. Students will develop theoretical questions and applied skills that engage the functions, practices and critical analyses of museums while challenging preconceived notions about their societal effects.

Graduate certificate in computer-assisted language learning: Offered through the Department of English, this certificate is now also available to online graduate students interested in studying the use of technology in language teaching and learning. The program provides hands-on experience creating and evaluating digital learning materials and enhances language acquisition through the use of technology.
