Hear a bipartisan panel of three Western secretaries of state discuss elections administration in the western United States in a discussion presented by the School of Public Affairs-based Mechanics of Democracy Laboratory.
“Why Does It Take So Long to Count the Votes Out West – and Does It Matter?” is 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, in the First Amendment Forum at the ASU Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, 555 N. Central Ave., Phoenix.
The panel, consisting of Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes, Idaho Secretary of State Phil McGrane and New Mexico Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse-Oliver, will be moderated by David Becker, founder and executive director of the Center for Election Innovation and Research. The laboratory is headed by its director, School of Public Affairs Professor of Practice Bill Gates, a former Maricopa County supervisor.
