ASU Leadership Institute Class 8 applications now open

A cohort of ASU Leadership Institute members huddle with Sparky at Papago Golf Club.
The ASU Leadership Institute unites a dynamic group of Sun Devil professionals from a range
of fields to reconnect with their alma mater and explore leadership principles through the
perspective of the Arizona State University Charter.
Throughout this nine-month experience, participants engage in meaningful discussions with
influential ASU leaders, enjoy exclusive behind-the-scenes tours of all four campuses and form
lasting connections with a community of fellow Sun Devils.
The program is open to both in-state and out-of-state ASU alumni, offering members the
opportunity to expand their personal network by connecting with their current cohort and joining
a community of more than 150 alumni from past ASU Leadership Institute classes, spanning
various industries and locations across the country.
Members will attend nine Innovation Days, held on one Friday each month. These sessions
offer an in-depth exploration of key themes from the Charter. By the end of the program,
participants will have strengthened their interpersonal skills and gained valuable insights to
serve as advocates for ASU, championing the university’s commitment to excellence in
innovation.
In addition, participants have the opportunity to explore extracurricular activities and recognize
the wide variety of experiences available to ASU students. This comprehensive approach
provides a thorough understanding of the university’s unique offerings and its vibrant
community.
“Every Innovation Day is so diverse, but everything circles back to ASU’s Charter,” said Sasha
Houts, Class 7 participant and director of consumer resources and community services at
Lauren’s Institute for Education. “All of the different programs and entities that we’ve seen and
toured always relate to ASU’s values and what the Charter stands for – that’s something I’ve
really taken with me.”
ASU alumni interested in applying for Class 8 are invited to attend a Q&A open house on
Wednesday, March 12, or Thursday, April 3 from 5-7 p.m. at Hundred Mile Brewing Co.,
owned by ASU alumna and Class 6 member Sue Rigler (‘88, BS microbiology). The session will
provide an opportunity to ask questions, which will not be recorded. For additional information,
contact Ellyse Crow at ellyse.crow@asu.edu.
Applications must be submitted by Wednesday, April 30. To learn more about the program and
application criteria, visit alumni.asu.edu/leadership-institute.
