It’s time to head back to the classroom and kick off a new year with new gear. For the fourth year, the Arizona State University Alumni Association is offering Sun Devil educators across the world complimentary ASU-themed back-to-school packs to add Sun Devil pride to their classrooms.

Last year, the association shipped over 3,500 packs to pre-K through college teachers located in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and five countries, spreading Sun Devil spirit globally.

“The ASU Alumni Association provides complimentary packs to our alumni educators as they are an integral part in ASU’s mission to educate the next generation of community leaders,” said Christine K. Wilkinson, president and CEO of the association. “The packet is more than complimentary ASU items, it provides teachers with information on resources that can assist them in their professional development and their classrooms.”

On Friday, July 23, the Alumni Association staff packed thousands of back-to-school packs at their headquarters at Old Main on the Tempe campus. The back-to-school packs can be requested through an online form from now until Sept. 15. The Alumni Association is encouraging teachers to post a selfie on social media using #sundevilteacher to be entered into drawings for ASU prizes and classroom treasure box fillers.

With support from Educational Outreach and Student Services and the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, this year’s packet includes a note from President Michael M. Crow, stickers for teachers and for students, a zipper pull, a door hanger, bookmark rulers, a magnetic picture frame, a carabiner and an ASU pennant.

Teachers can visit alumni.asu.edu/sundevilteacherpack to learn more about the resources available to them, find information on books written by alumni for their classroom or personal reading, and to download ASU Zoom backgrounds, desktop backgrounds and social media photos. The spirit packet is ideal for teachers, guidance counselors, social workers and librarians, to name a few.
