Young Alumni launches Real Life series with etiquette dinner


<p>Whether it’s a job interview over lunch or an important client meeting at dinner, knowing which fork to use and how to handle introductions properly just may be the key to landing the job or the client. That’s why Arizona State Young Alumni is launching its Real Life series with an Etiquette Dinner where guests will learn how to conduct themselves in professional and social settings.</p><separator></separator><p>The ASYA Etiquette Dinner will take place at 5:30 p.m., Oct. 7, at the University Club on the Tempe campus, 425 E. University Drive.&nbsp; Dinner guests will dine on a three-course meal and discuss personal and professional protocols necessary for proper social success.</p><separator></separator><p>The etiquette dinner will be led by expert, Sally Hartley, who received her bachelor’s degree in Home Economics Education from The University of Texas, Austin. Hartley, who conducts etiquette dinners nationally for various organizations, has since held membership and board positions in The Junior Leagues of New York City and Phoenix, National Charity League, Scottsdale Prevention Institute as well as the PTO’s of her children’s respective schools. In addition to the dinner, guests will receive a resource guide on additional "must know" tips and a reading list to learn more.</p><separator></separator><p>“So often as new professionals, it seems we all have questions about proper etiquette but are afraid to ask,” explained Jennifer Holsman, Executive Director of Operations for the ASU Alumni Association. “This dinner setting will give guests the chance to ask those questions, learn the essentials of dinner table etiquette and meet fellow Sun Devils in the process.”</p><separator></separator><p>The ASYA Real Life Series is designed to give young alums, many whom are new to their professions, the chance to learn the skills applicable to planning a successful future. Topics will include networking practices, professional development, financial tips and personal growth.</p><separator></separator><p>The dinner costs $25 per person to attend.
