Women's tennis wraps up ITA/Wilson Regional Championship


<p> The Arizona State women's tennis team concluded play at the Wilson/ITA Regional Championships as both the doubles team and singles players remaining were eliminated. Despite not being represented in the finals, the Sun Devils had a fulfilling weekend of great matches.<a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-tennis/mtt/simmons_sianna00.html"… href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-tennis/mtt/simmons_sianna00.html"… Simmons</a> put up a tough fight in her quarterfinals consolation match against Christi Andrews of USC. Despite dropping her first set 6-2, the sophomore battled back to win the second set 7-6 (3). In the final set, Simmons took Andrews to four tiebreakers but ultimately fell 7-6 (4) to Andrews.</p><separator></separator><p>The doubles team of <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-tennis/mtt/brown_ashlee00.html">A… Brown</a> and <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-tennis/mtt/hein_micaela00.html">M… Hein</a> made it to the semi-finals before being defeated 8-4 by UC Irvine's team of Courtney Byron and Stephanie Hammel.</p><separator></separator>The Sun Devils are off next week before a busy weekend.
