Women's tennis wraps up ITA/Wilson Regional Championship

The Arizona State women's tennis team concluded play at the Wilson/ITA Regional Championships as both the doubles team and singles players remaining were eliminated. Despite not being represented in the finals, the Sun Devils had a fulfilling weekend of great matches.

Sianna Simmons put up a tough fight in her quarterfinals consolation match against Christi Andrews of USC. Despite dropping her first set 6-2, the sophomore battled back to win the second set 7-6 (3). In the final set, Simmons took Andrews to four tiebreakers but ultimately fell 7-6 (4) to Andrews.

The doubles team of Ashlee Brown and Micaela Hein made it to the semi-finals before being defeated 8-4 by UC Irvine's team of Courtney Byron and Stephanie Hammel.

The Sun Devils are off next week before a busy weekend. Half the team will travel to New Haven, Conn., while the other half will host the Thunderbird Invitational.
