Women's tennis off to San Diego for ITA Regional Championships

<p> The Arizona State women's tennis team is back in action this week as they head to San Diego for the ITA Regional Championships. The tournament, hosted by the University of San Diego and San Diego State University, will run from Thursday, October 22 through Monday, October 24th.</p><separator></separator><p>Who's Traveling?<br> The Sun Devils will travel five of their athletes. Two-time All-American <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-tennis/mtt/mckenna_kelcy00.html">… McKenna</a> will be making the trip along with fellow All-American doubles partner <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-tennis/mtt/hein_micaela00.html">M… Hein</a>. Junior <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-tennis/mtt/brown_ashlee00.html">A… Brown</a> and the Sun Devils two sophomores <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-tennis/mtt/brycki_michelle00.html… Brycki</a> and <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-tennis/mtt/simmons_sianna00.html"… Simmons</a> will also head to San Diego.<br></p><separator></separator><p>The Best of the Southwest<br> The Sun Devils will be competing in the Southwest Regional. The teams they are lined up to compete against include Arizona, Cal Poly, CSU-Fullerton, CSU-Northridge, UC Irvine, UCLA, USC, UC-Riverside, UCSB, Hawaii, Long Beach State, Loyola Marymount, Pepperdine, San Diego State and University of San Diego. <br></p><separator></separator><p>Rank 'Em High<br> Following last season's All-American run, McKenna entered the preseason rankings slotted at No. 7. Senior <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-tennis/mtt/abdala_nadia00.html">N… Abdala</a> is listed at No. 35 while Hein checks in at No. 68. The team headed up to Berkeley for the Cal-Nike Invitational. The All-American duo of McKenna and Hein reached the semi-finals before falling to Andrea Remynse and Yasmin Schnak of UCLA.
