Women's tennis final results from the Freeman Memorial Tennis Championships

LAS VEGAS - Kelcy McKenna, of the No. 19 Arizona State women's tennis team, defeated UCLA's Ashley Joelson, 6-1, 6-0, Sunday in the flight one singles consolation finals in Las Vegas.

Senior Jessica Leitch matched up against Florida's Lolita Frangulyan in the final round of the flight two singles, but was defeated 6-1, 6-2.

The combination of senior Wendy Pilecka and McKenna fell 8-3 in the flight one consolation doubles semifinals to Elizabeth Lumpkin and Stephanie Wetmore of UCLA.

The flight two doubles final had the same outcome for the Sun Devils. Ashlee Brown and Lauren Megale were defeated by Stanford's duo of Lejla Hodzic and Jennifer Yen, 8-4.

In added singles matches, Nadia Abdala topped Csilla Borsanyi of Florida, 6-1, 6-1, and Brown picked up the win over Oregon's Anna Powaska 6-3, 6-1. N. Abdala then paired up with Leitch to defeat Carmen Seremanta and Ana Cecelia Olivos, 9-7, in an added doubles match.

The Sun Devils return home to host UC Davis Saturday, January 19 starting at 11 a.m. MT from the Whiteman Tennis Center in Tempe.
