Women's tennis falls to Miami in ITA


The No. 21 Arizona State (3-1) women’s tennis team fell 3-4 to the 11th ranked University of Miami in a hard fought top-25 match up in the ITA Kick-Off Weekend Final.

The Sun Devils started off the match by winning the doubles point with victories by the team of freshman Jacqueline Cako and Michelle Brycki followed by a win by the team of Sianna Simmons and Ashlee Brown.

The Huricanes took four of the six singles matches with Cako and Micaela Hein winning two matches for ASU. Cako defeated 98th-ranked Anna Bartenstein 7-6 (3), 6-2 while the senior defeated 99th-ranked Danielle Mills.

Next up, the Sun Devils return home to host Northern Arizona and Pacific, Feb. 11 and 13th at the Whiteman Tennis Center.
