Women's tennis continues to roll, closes out UC Irvine


The 16th-ranked Arizona State women's tennis team defeated UC Irvine, 7-0 at the Whiteman Tennis Center in Tempe, Ariz. on Tuesday. The Sun Devils continued to roll a week after knocking off two top-10 ranked Pac-10 teams.

ASU started off with a quick dispatch of the Anteaters in doubles play, winning the point in straight sets. In singles play, freshman Jacqueline Cako was first off the court for the Sun Devils, defeating UCI's Rebecca Kwan, 6-1, 6-1. Ranked 16th in the nation, Cako extended her singles winning streak to 17 straight matches.

The Sun Devils won in every line-up spot on the day with senior Micaela Hein and junior Michelle Brycki playing a set with out dropping a single game.

Arizona State returns to the court, Wednesday, Mar. 23, hosting the DePaul Blue Demons at 1:30 p.m. PT.
