Women's swimming and diving nab Pac-10 honors
Eight members of the Arizona State women's swimming and diving team were named to the 2010 Pacific-10 Conference Al-Academic team, announced Commissioner Larry Scott. To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
The Sun Devils had three selected to the Pac-10 All-Academic First-Team, including a pair of Pac-10 Champions. Sophomore business major Eggers, who won the Pac-10 title on the 10-meter platform is one of two in the conference with a 4.0 GPA. 2010 Pac-10 100 breaststroke champion Ejdervik made the team with a 3.71 as an exploratory major. Boasting a 3.84 in Family and Human Development, sophomore Jordyn Green joined the two Pac-10 Champions on the All-Academic First-Team.
The Sun Devils had two members on the second-team. Sara McDaniel, a two-time Pac-10 All-Academic Honorable Mention selection, received second-team accolades with a 3.42 as a double-major in English and Communications. Freestyler Katie Haron, who was also named honorable mention last season, was named to the second-team this season. Haron currently has a 3.41 in Kinesiology.
Three Sun Devils were named to the Pac-10 All-Academic Honorable Mention team. Samantha Caldwell, Brittany Jumer and Shoshanna Rutemiller each earned honorable mention honors. This is Jumer's second time on the All-Academic team and the first for Caldwell and Rutemiller.
