Women's swimming and diving close out 2009
The Arizona State University women's swimming and diving team will host Northern Arizona and New Mexico State in the final meet of 2009. The meet will take place this Saturday, at 9 am at the Mona Plummer Aquatic Center. The diving competition will begin at 10 am.
Three members of the women's diving team have already qualified for the NCAA Zone Meet. Elina Eggers, Brittany Jumer and Ciara Geller have all achieved scores high enough to beat the NCAA Standard set for zone qualification. It will be the first trip to the NCAA Zones for Eggers and Ciara while Jumer will be attending the meet for the third consecutive year.
Jordyn Green has successfully avoid the sophomore slump. The Reno, Nev., native won both breaststroke events at the Mizzou Invite. With times already under the NCAA "B" standard, Green aims to return to the NCAA Championships for the second consecutive season.
