Women's hoops beats Oregon State


Danielle Orsillo scored 18 of her career-high 26 points in the second half to lead Arizona State to a 62-49 win against Oregon State on Thursday night, Feb. 11.

Janae Fulcher added eight points and four rebounds for the Sun Devils (15-8, 7-5 Pac-10).

Haiden Palmer had 16 points and Talisa Rhea 12 for Oregon State (9-13, 1-10), which has lost 11 straight games.

Arizona State used a 14-1 surge during a six-minute stretch of the second half to take a 44-35 lead with 10:31 remaining.

The Beavers closed within 51-47 on four straight free throws by Rhea, the last two with 4:18 to play. But Arizona State ended the game with an 11-2 run.

Arizona State shot 26 of 44 (59.1 percent) from the field. Oregon State was 20 of 43 (46.5 percent).
