Women's golf opens team play in Tucson


The Arizona State women’s golf team heads to Tucson, Ariz. to compete in the Wildcat Invitational. The tournament, hosted by the University Arizona, will be held Feb. 7-8 at the Golf Club at Vistoso.

The Sun Devils enter the tournament having previously won the team title three out of the last five years in 2006, 2007 and 2010.  This year the tournament will include 16 teams, six of which are members of the Pac-10.

The field for the tournament includes: Arizona, Arizona State, Washington, Gonzaga, Idaho, Stanford, Oregon State, New Mexico State, New Mexico, California, San Jose State, Northern Arizona, UC Davis, San Diego State, Hawaii, Oklahoma State.

Arizona State begins its team competition portion of the schedule with the Sun Devils welcoming five new golfers to the team. The line-up for the Wildcat Invitational features All-American Carlota Ciganda, Giula Molinaro, Laura Blanco, Justine Lee and Daniela Ordonez. Freshman Brittany McKee will compete as an individual.
