Women's golf finishes second at PING Invitational


<p>A trio of Sun Devils tied for 11th as the third-ranked women's golf team finished second at the PING/ASU Invitational, one shot behind top-ranked UCLA.</p><separator></separator><p>The event, held at the ASU Karsten Golf Course (par-72/6,230 yards) concluded Sunday afternoon after 18 holes on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.</p><separator></separator><p>Third-ranked ASU shot a 7-under 857 (279-286-292) led by three players at 2-under 214. <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-golf/mtt/johnson_jennifer00.html"… Johnson</a> (69-70-75), <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-golf/mtt/sweeney_jaclyn01.html">J… Sweeney</a> (71-71-72) and <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-golf/mtt/murcia_juliana00.html">J… Murcia</a> (71-72-71) all tied for 11th.</p><separator></separator><p><a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-golf/mtt/ciganda_carlota00.html">… Ciganda</a> tied for 19th at even 216 (68-73-75), while <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-golf/mtt/molinaro_giulia00.html">… Molinaro</a> tied for 57th at 11-over 227 (77-76-74).</p><separator></separator><p>Top-ranked UCLA (291-286-279) took home the team title for the first time since 2006 and Bruin Stephanie Kono won medalist honors with a 9-under 207 (71-70-66).</p><separator></separator><p>ASU will next compete at the Pac-10 Championship April 19-21 at the Eugene Country Club in Oregon. The NCAA West Regional is May 6-8 at Stanford, while the 2010 NCAA Championship is May 18-21 at Wilmington, N.C.</p><separator></separator><!-- STORY AD BEGINS HERE --></p>
