Women's golf to compete in the Stanford Intercollegiate
Palo Alto, Calif. - The fourth-ranked Arizona State women's golf team is scheduled to compete in the Stanford Intercollegiate in Palo Alto, Calif., Oct. 19-21. The three-day tournament will be held at the par-71, 6,092-yard Stanford Golf Course.
The field for the Stanford Intercollegiate features 18 teams, ten of which are ranked in the top-25 according to Golfweek.com. Competing in the tournament are: No. 1 UCLA, No. 2 Duke, No. 4 Arizona State, No. 8 Arizona, No. 10 Georgia, No. 14 California, No. 15 Vanderbilt, No. 16 Arkansas, No. 20 Pepperdine, No. 23 Texas, New Mexico, Oregon, Oregon State, San Jose State, Washington, Washington State, and UNLV.
Arizona State last won the Stanford Intercollegiate in 2004 after shooting an even-par 852.
Individually, sophomore All-American Anna Nordqvist is ranked third in the nation according to Golfweek.com, while junior All-American Azahara Munoz is ranked seventh. ASU is the only team in the Golfweek.com rankings to have two players in the top-seven. Nordqvist has finished in the top-ten in each other tournaments she has competed in this season.
