Women's golf closes at Northrop Grumman


<p>Led by senior <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-golf/mtt/murcia_juliana00.html">J… Murcia</a>, the No. 1 Arizona State women's golf team jumped up three spots to finish tied for fourth at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge. The Sun Devils carded a 46-over 898 (300-298-300) at the par 71, YARD yard Palos Verdes Golf Club. This is the 27th straight top five finish for the Sun Devils, as the last time they placed out of the top five in a tournament was in 2007. USC won the Northrop Grumman while Pepperdine's Lisa McCloskey took medalist honors.</p><separator></separator><p>Murcia was the lone top 10 finisher for the Sun Devils as she shot an 8-over 221 (76-71-74) over the three rounds. She tied for seventh in her third top-10 finish of the season. <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-golf/mtt/molinaro_giulia00.html">… Molinaro</a> earned her first top 20 placing of her sophomore campaign and second overall as she tied for 17th after carding 11-over 224 (73-71-80) over the course of the tournament.</p><separator></separator><p><a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-golf/mtt/ciganda_carlota00.html">… Ciganda</a> shot the round low for the team as she posted a 1-over 72 in the final round. Ciganda placed 28th after compiling 15-over 228 (78-78-72). <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-golf/mtt/johnson_jennifer00.html"… Johnson</a> tied for 33rd after shooting 16-over 229 (75-78-76) while <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-golf/mtt/sweeney_jaclyn01.html">J… Sweeney</a> placed 51st with 20-over 233 (76-79-78).</p><separator></separator><p>The Sun Devils will head down to Tucson on Monday to compete in the Dual in the Desert event.</p><separator></separator><!-- STORY AD BEGINS HERE --></p>
