Women's basketball defeats Washington
Kayli Murphy scored a career-high 16 points, including five-of-six free throws in overtime, to help Arizona State beat Washington 67-61 Thursday night in Pac-10 play.
Murphy added 11 rebounds for her third career double-double and also had three assists, three steals and a blocked shot as the Sun Devils (14-7, 6-4 Pac-10) won their fifth game in the last six.
Laura McLellan scored six of her season-high 18 points in overtime, including a put-back with 3:03 left to tie the game at 59, for the Huskies (9-11, 4-6), losers of five of six.
However, Kali Bennett, who transferred from Washington after her freshman year, put back her own miss with 2:41 left in overtime to give Arizona State a 61-59 lead.
