Weber, Bolden named freshman All-Americans by Sporting News

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Sporting News released its 2007 Freshman All-American Teams Friday with two Arizona State University players earning recognition for their rookie campaigns. <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/weber_thomas00.html">T… Weber</a>, the 2007 Lou Groza Award recipient, was selected as the first team kicker while <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/bolden_omar00.html">Om… Bolden</a> was an honorable mention selection at defensive back.<separator></separator>Weber, a redshirt freshman from Downey, Calif., set an ASU record by making the first 17 field goal attempts of his career. Weber is 22-for-23 on field goals, including a 53-yarder and the game-winner against Washington State. He is the Pac-10's leading scorer, averaging 9.0 points per game. The honor from TSN is the sixth All-America accolade attained by Weber this season.<separator></separator>Bolden, from Ontario, Calif., finished the regular season with 28 tackles and one interception, which he returned 29 yards for a touchdown against Stanford.
