Water polo defeated by Hawai'i

The No. 6 Arizona State University water polo team lost 11-5 to No. 4 Hawai'i on Wednesday in the first of a three-game road trip this week. The Sun Devils fall to 9-8, 0-3 MPSF, on the season with the loss.<separator></separator>Sophomore <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-wpolo/mtt/smith_lynlee00.html">Ly… Smith</a> led the Sun Devil offense with two goals, while senior <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-wpolo/mtt/mcgrath_addison00.html"… McGrath</a>, junior <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-wpolo/mtt/phelps_kelly00.html">Ke… Phelps</a> and sophomore <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-wpolo/mtt/unbehaun_nikki00.html">… Unbehaun</a> all had one goal each. Freshman goalie <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-wpolo/mtt/harvey_dana00.html">Dana Harvey</a> had seven saves.<separator></separator>For the third straight game, ASU fell behind early and was unable to come back. The Rainbow Wahine took a 4-1 lead after the first quarter and maintained that three-goal advantage into halftime. They then outscored the Sun Devils 6-3 in the second half to go on to the 11-5 win.<separator></separator>The Sun Devils return to the pool on Friday, when they face the top-ranked team in Division III, the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens, at 3 p.m. PT in Pomona, Calif.
