Vote a Sun Devil into the AZ Sports Hall of Fame


<p>For the first time ever, the public will have an opportunity to vote for the final Arizona Sports 2010 Hall of Fame inductee. People can vote for their choice on the Sports Commission website, <a href="http://www.phoenixsports.org/">www.phoenixsports.org</a&gt; until March 12. The Hall of Fame honors athletes, coaches and administrators who have made significant contributions to Arizona sports. The final vote nominees include:</p><separator></separator><p>• Michael Carbajal – 4-time world boxing champion and Olympic and Pan AM Games silver medalist.</p><separator></separator><p>• Cotton Fitzsimmons – Former Phoenix Suns coach, 2-time NBA Coach of the Year.</p><separator></separator><p>• Bill Kajikawa – Former ASU Coach and player.</p><separator></separator><p>• Art Martori – Founder of Sunkist Kids, the #1 youth wrestling club in the country which has produced 150 Olympic and World Team members.</p><separator></separator><p>• Billy Mayfair – ASU graduate, 22 straight years on PGA Tour, 5-time winner, 34th on PGA Tour all-time money list.</p><separator></separator><p>• Randall McDaniel – Former NFL player, started 12 consecutive pro bowls, an NFL record.</p><separator></separator><p>• Grace Park – Junior golf player of the year, college player of the year, 11 pro wins including one major.</p><separator></separator><p>• Curt Schilling – 3-time World Series champion, 6-time All-Star.</p><separator></separator><p>• Kerri Strug – Gymnast, 1996 Olympic Gold Medalist.</p><separator></separator><p>• Paul Westphal – Former Suns player and coach, 5-time All-Star, coached Grand Canyon University to an NAIA National Title in 1988.</p><separator></separator><p>Please cast your vote for your favorite former Sun Devil!</p><separator></separator><p>The Arizona Sports Hall of Fame was founded in 1957 by the Phoenix Press Box Association. The Association held 36 induction ceremonies before ceasing operations in 1991. The Sports Commission assumed custodianship of the Hall of Fame and held inductions in 1999, 2001 and 2002. The Sports Commission re-launched the Hall of Fame in 2009 as its sole annual fundraiser.</p><separator></separator><p>The honorees will be recognized during the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on April 8 at 3 p.m. at the Phoenix Convention Center.
