Two women's golfers named ESPN The Magazine Academic-All-District


Two members of the Arizona State women's golf team have been named ESPN The Magazine All-District VIII Women's At-Large Team . Sophomore Carlota Ciganda received First-Team honors while Juliana Murcia was named to the Second-Team. This is the first honor for both.

Ciganda carries a 3.92 in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis on Sociology and Tourism. One of the nation's top golfers during her two years at ASU, Ciganda became the Pac-10's first back-to-back Conference Medalist. The sophomore was named First-Team All-American last season and has recorded seven top 10 and eight top 20 finishes this season.

Murica has progressed into one of the nation's top players in her time at ASU. An accomplished artist, she carries a 3.8 in Sculpture and earned her degree in early May. Murcia has placed in the top three four times this season and in the top 20 eight times. She was named a Second-Team All-American last season and earned First-Team All-Pac-10 accolades the past two seasons.

Elina Eggers of the ASU diving team was also named First-Team All-District. On the men's side, Knut Borsheim of the men's golf team was selected to the First-Team and diver Constantin Blaha was named Second-Team.
