Two women's golfers named ESPN The Magazine Academic-All-District


<p>Two members of the Arizona State women's golf team have been named ESPN The Magazine All-District VIII Women's At-Large Team . Sophomore <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-golf/mtt/ciganda_carlota00.html">… Ciganda</a> received First-Team honors while <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-golf/mtt/murcia_juliana00.html">J… Murcia</a> was named to the Second-Team. This is the first honor for both.</p><separator></separator><p>Ciganda carries a 3.92 in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis on Sociology and Tourism. One of the nation's top golfers during her two years at ASU, Ciganda became the Pac-10's first back-to-back Conference Medalist. The sophomore was named First-Team All-American last season and has recorded seven top 10 and eight top 20 finishes this season.</p><separator></separator><p>Murica has progressed into one of the nation's top players in her time at ASU. An accomplished artist, she carries a 3.8 in Sculpture and earned her degree in early May. Murcia has placed in the top three four times this season and in the top 20 eight times. She was named a Second-Team All-American last season and earned First-Team All-Pac-10 accolades the past two seasons.</p><separator></separator><p>Elina Eggers of the ASU diving team was also named First-Team All-District. On the men's side, <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/m-golf/mtt/borsheim_knut00.html">Kn… Borsheim</a> of the men's golf team was selected to the First-Team and diver Constantin Blaha was named Second-Team.</p>
