Two ASU divers head to NCAA Championships


<p><a href="http://www.ncaa.com/sports/m-swim/champpage/m-swim-div1-index.html?SPSI… NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships Home Page</a></p><separator></separator><p>Two Sun Devil divers will represent the Arizona State University men's swimming and diving team at the 2010 NCAA Championships. Held at the McCorckle Aquatic Pavilion in Columbus, Ohio, <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/c-swim/mtt/blaha_constantin00.html"… Blaha</a> and <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/c-swim/mtt/mccormick_riley00.html">… McCormick</a> will compete in the diving events at the alma mater of their head coach <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/c-swim/mtt/bradshaw_mark00.html">Ma… Bradshaw</a>. The NCAA Championships begin Thursday, March 25 and will conclude on Saturday.</p><separator></separator><p>Looking to make some noise in the springboard events, Blaha will attempt to continue the momentum he has been riding into the NCAA Championships. The sophomore was named Pac-10 Diver of the Meet after an extremely successful conference championships. He took home the gold on the 3-meter and snagged a silver medal on the 1-meter. His success carried over to the Zone E Championships where he placed second on the 3-meter and the platform as well third on the 1-meter.</p><separator></separator><p>With two straight wins on the 10-meter tower, McCormick is poised to make a strong run for the top of the podium on the platform. Currently ranked ninth in the world in the FINA standings, McCormick has already earned gold medals on the event three times this season. He took first at the Pac-10 Championships, before absolutely annihilating the competition at the Zone E Championships. Additionally, he took first at his home country of Canada's Winter Nationals. McCormick will also compete on the springboard events, which he has steadily improved on all season.</p><separator></separator><p>The 1-meter competition will take place on Thursday with the 3-meter taking place the following day.
