Three women's golfers named to NGCA All-American Scholar Team

Three members of the Arizona State women's golf team have been named to the National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team. To be eligible for selection, the student-athlete had to have a minimum of a 3.5 GPA and must have competed in at least 50% of the regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year. Head coach Melissa Luellen has now had five student-athletes earn a total of nine NGCA All-American Scholar honors in her six years as head coach.

Juliana Murcia, Azahara Munoz and Anna Nordqvist were named to the 2008 NGCA All-American Scholar Team. This is Munoz's third time on the All-American Scholar team, while Nordqvist made the list for the second consecutive year. This is Murcia's first All-American Scholar honor. Munoz, the Edith Cummings Munson award winner and NCAA Champion, holds a 3.92 in psychology. Murcia carries a 3.91 in art and Nordqvist earned the honor with a 3.55 in interdisciplinary studies.

The Sun Devils finished fifth at the NCAA Championships. They ended the season ranked fourth by Golfstat and the NGCA/Golf World and fifth by Golfweek.
