Tenaya Watson named ASU Female Athlete of the Week

<p>Women's basketball player <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-baskbl/mtt/watson_tenaya00.html">… Watson</a> has been named ASU's Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 30. Her dominating performance on both ends of the floor against the Arizona Wildcats sparked the Sun Devils to a 73-67 win. This was the Sun Devils fourth consecutive win. The Bay Area road trip awaits as the Sun Devils will face off against the Stanford Cardinal and the California Golden Bears.</p><separator></separator><p>Watson set new career highs in scoring (14), steals (4) and blocks (4) in ASU's 73-67 win over Arizona on Sunday. She also, hit 83 percent of her shots (5-6) on the day. Watson kept the Sun Devils in the game in the first half scoring 10 points (6 more than anyone one else on the team) while going 4-5 from the field. In the second half was equally effective on the defensive end as she had three steals and three block. Two of the steals and two of the blocks came during a key 11-0 run in the second-half, which helped give ASU control of the game.</p><separator></separator><!-- STORY AD BEGINS HERE --></p>
