Sun Devils defeat UC Riverside

Briann January had 16 points and five steals to help Arizona State (No. 21 ESPN/USA Today, No. 22 AP) rout UC Riverside 68-45 on Sunday night for its fourth straight victory.

Arizona State (7-2) led by as many as 31 in the second half after carrying a 24-20 advantage into intermission. The Sun Devils started the second half with a 19-5 run.

Kirsten Thompson scored 10 points and Becca Tobin had 13 rebounds for Arizona State, which outrebounded UC Riverside 43-19.

Kemie Nkele scored 13 points for UC Riverside (3-5), which couldn't overcome 26 turnovers.

ASU visits Texas (No. 5 ESPN/USA Today, No. 6 AP) on Thursday.
