Sun Devils continue play at ITA Regional in day two

The Sun Devils continued play at the ITA Regional in Malibu, Calif., on Thursday.Wes Miller and Juan Carlos Rebaza advanced to the third round. Miller and his doubles partner Matt Brooklyn will also advance to the next round.

Miller defeated Daniel Gliner of USC in three close sets, 7-5, 5-7, 6-4. Rebaza was able to earn a victory in two sets, besting Andre Feliz (SDSU) 6-2, 6-3. The doubles team of Miller and Brooklyn also advanced after beating Rob Foy and Darryn Young of Cal Poly 9-7.

Brooklyn was upset earlier in the day in singles, losing 7-6, 2-6, 6-2 to Mahmoud Karmel (Pepperdine). Bellama was also defeated, falling 6-2, 6-2 to Nick Meister (UCLA). Bellama and Rebaza dropped their doubles match 8-6 to Tejesvi Veerepaili and Mirko Zapletal of Fresno St.

Friday's singles matches for ASU begin at 11 a.m. The No. 7 seed Rebaza looks to take on Jeremy Drean while Patrick Brogan will play Troy Aiken. At 12:30 p.m. Murilo Souza will compete against Nathan Cochrane. Wess Miller and Matt Brooklyn both play their matches at 1:00 p.m. In doubles, the No. 5 seed team of Brooklyn and Miller will play at 9:30 a.m.
