Sun Devil golfers perform well at Women's U.S. Open
Three former members of the Arizona State women's golf team closed out their competition at the Women's U.S. Open, held at the Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pa. Jimin Kang, Anna Nordqvist and Azahara Munoz were the three Sun Devils playing during the final round.
Kang was high Sun Devil alum finisher. Kang recorded her third top-20 finish of the season as she tied for 17th at 8-over 292 (76-71-74-71).
Nordqvist tied for 26th. The Swede shot a 9-over 293 (71-75-75-72). Nordqvist recently won her first major at the LPGA Championship.
Munoz carded a 12-over 296 (72-76-74-74) to tie for fourth. The Spanish amateur was aided by head coach Melissa Luellen, who served as her caddie during the weekend. Munoz will compete in the Women's British Open after earning an amateur exemption for winning the Ladies British Amateur last month.
