Summer arts festival features staff

There's no doubt about it: ASU's staff is a talented group.

For the first time, ASU staff members will have a chance to “strut their stuff” during a summer arts festival on the Tempe campus during the month of July.

The Memorial Union Program and Activities and Classified Staff Council are sponsoring this first-ever staff arts festival.

All staff members who sing, play an instrument, have a band, paint, write poetry, create ceramics or jewelry, weave, knit, make lace, write stories or do anything else creative are invited to share their talents.

Meanwhile, the festival needs a name – and a committee to help plan it.

Names for the festival can be submitted to Lisa Campbell, ASU Media Relations, at (480) 965-3502 or lisa.campbell@asu.edu, or Britt Engle, ASU Insight, at (480) 965-9370 or britt18@asu.edu.

The deadline is June 8. The winner will receive a gift certificate from Hoodlums in the Memorial Union (MU).

To receive an application form to appear at the festival, or to volunteer for the planning committee, contact Judith Smith, Media Relations, at (480) 965-4821 or jps@asu.edu, or Kellie Lowe, MU, at (480) 965-4304 or kellie.lowe@asu.edu.
