Study to investigate stress of work-life balance


<p>A new research study is investigating stress associated with working, and ASU staff members are needed to volunteer.</p><separator></separator><p>Under the direction of ASU President's Professor Jess Alberts in the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication, Justin Boren, a doctoral candidate, is conducting the study and recruiting individuals to spend two sessions during a course of six weeks engaging in a social support group with other ASU staff members. During those meetings, study participants will get to interact with other staff in learning positive ways to help reduce stress often experienced in attempting to balance one's work and home life.</p><separator></separator><p>Participation in the study requires providing a series of saliva samples, which will be collected (by the participant) at home four times during the study’s duration. You also will be asked to complete some online questionnaires twice during the study’s duration. Some participants also will be asked to keep a journal detailing their social support interactions during the study.</p><separator></separator><p>All data will be linked to participants' identification number. Your personal information will be kept strictly confidential. Saliva samples will be analyzed in the Exercise and Endocrinology lab at ASU by August, and destroyed immediately after analysis. The duration of participation will take approximately six weeks.</p><separator></separator><p>If you are interested in participating, please click on the link below to fill out a short questionnaire to determine whether you are eligible for this study. You must be at least 18 years of age to participate and be generally healthy. Participants will be paid $50 for the course of their participation.</p><separator></separator><p>Participation in this study is voluntary.
