Students: lead change, apply to be a Spirit of Service Scholar
Bring your talent, ideas and energy to help a changing nation journey into the future. The Spirit of Service Scholars program honors outstanding students who are not only interested in pursuing careers in the public service and nonprofit sectors after graduation, but are also making a difference today.
Scholars receive a $5,000 scholarship and mentorship from high-profile practitioners and leaders. They receive education on core topics for public service through seven Saturday seminars hosted by the College of Public Programs.
ASU students in any undergraduate, graduate or professional degree program are eligible to apply. High school students who have been accepted to ASU for the fall 2014 are also eligible. The selection process is competitive: 20 scholars will be selected to participate in the 2014-2015 cohort. Selected applicants will be invited for an interview in May and all finalists will be notified in June.
The Spirit of Service Scholars program is accepting applications through April 14. Applicants need to complete an online application form, available at spiritofservicescholars.asu.edu/students/apply-now, and provide unofficial transcripts (see FAQ's on the website above) and two sealed letters of reference.
