Some notes and numbers on ASU men's hoops as the squad has won eight straight
*Arizona State (12-2 overall) is 2-0 in Pac-10 play for the just the third time in its 30 years of Pac-10 play and first time since 1987-88. ASu was 4-0 in 1987-88 and 6-0 in 1979-80.
*ASU is on an eight-game win streak for the first time since a nine-game streak from Nov. 27-Dec. 29, 2004, and for just the second time in the past in the past 26 seasons (1981-82 to present).
*After starting 6-19 last year, ASU is 14-5 in its past 19 games.
*In 44 games under Herb Sendek, ASU is giving up just 60.2 points per game.
*The sweep of the Oregon schools this weekend marked ASU's first weekend sweep of Pac-10 opponents since Feb. 17-19, 2005, when it topped the Oregon schools in Tempe.
*ASU is 10-0 at home after going 7-11 (.389) last year at Ned Wulk Court.
*Junior Jeff Pendergraph is shooting .684 from the field and .806 from the free throw line on the year. In his past five games he is averaging 19.4 points and 8.4 boards. He is 31-of-39 (.695) from the field in the past five games and has made 31-of-35 (.886) free throws in the past four games.
*Freshman James Harden, who is the Pac-10's youngest player ( born Aug. 26, 1989) leads the team in scoring (17.6 ppg.), steals (25) and minutes per game (31.0) and is shooting .559 from the field (81-of-145) and .802 from the free throw line (69-of-86). He already has seven 20-point games, tied for the second-most by a freshman in ASU history, and the most by a Pac-10 freshman this year.
*ASU's 12-2 mark is tied for its best mark through 14 games in the past 27 seasons. It was 13-2 in 2004-2005.
*ASU won its Pac-10 opener for just the fourth time in 20 seasons (second time in 10 seasons) with its 62-54 win over Oregon on Jan. 3, holding the Ducks to more than 30 points below their average (85.8) and their fewest points in the past 55 contests.
*Derek Glasser has made 26-of-31 (.839) free throws this year and is 61-of-76 (.803) in his 44-game career.
*In Herb Sendek's 44-game ASU career, freshmen have made 49.1 percent of the starts (108 out of a possible 220 starts).
*ASU is shooting .756 from the FT line. Five of the top six players in minutes per game are shooting better than 80 percent. In his 10 seasons at NC State, Coach Sendek's teams led the ACC four times in FT% (including three straight, 2002-04). In 2004 NC State led the nation and set the ACC record by shooting .799.
*ASU has reached the 70-point mark eight times this year after reaching it just three times last year.
