Softball slams past Notre Dame

<p>A lights-out <a href="">H… Bach</a> and back-to-back home runs from <a href="">Ma… Urfer</a> and <a href="">Re… Welty</a> helped propel the No. 6 ASU softball team to a 3-0 win over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Sunday morning in Fullerton, Calif. The win wraps ASU's weekend at the Judi Garman Classic with their record now standing at 25-5 overall.</p><separator></separator><p>To wrap up the weekend, <a href="">H… Bach</a> took to the mound against Notre Dame for the complete game shutout, as she kept the Irish fightin' for a hit all game, giving up only four hits all game long.</p><separator></separator><p>The Sun Devils seemed to come out sluggish as well in the game, as the ASU offense finally showed a scintilla of life in the third after a lead-off single from <a href="… Nulliner</a> was brought home after a 2-2 RBI single from <a href="">… Rogers</a> to break the scoreless stalemate.</p><separator></separator><p>The Sun Devils came back again in the sixth inning as <a href="">Ma… Urfer</a> crushed a solo shot to center off a 1-0 pitch. <a href="">Re… Welty</a> dug in next to prove she could hit one further, launching the first pitch of the at-bat way out to center field as ASU for the third time on the weekend hit back-to-back home runs.</p><separator></separator><p>The win wraps the Judi Garman Classic for the Sun Devils as they return home next week to host the Long Beach State 49ers in a three-game series in Tempe at Farrington Stadium. The first game will be played Friday, March 20 at 7 p.m. followed with a double-header on Saturday March 21 at 3 and 5 p.m.</p><separator></separator><!-- STORY AD BEGINS HERE --></p>
