Soccer's Felts earns Academic First Team All-America accolades from CoSIDA


<p> TEMPE, Ariz. - Senior <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-soccer/mtt/felts_kyleyn00.html">K… Felts</a>, a defender on the Arizona State soccer team, was honored by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) as an ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America First Team selection after being chosen to the Academic All-District VIII First Team three weeks ago.</p><separator></separator><p>Felts, who carries a 4.0 GPA in graphic design, earned her first Academic All-America honor Tuesday. She is one of only two student-athletes from the Pac-10 conference to receive the honors this season.</p><separator></separator><p>The national honor made her just the fifth different Sun Devil to achieve Academic All-America status from CoSIDA and is the third student-athlete to be named to the first team. ASU first landed a student-athlete on the list in 2002 when <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-soccer/mtt/lepeilbet_amy00.html">… LePeilbet</a> garnered third-team accolades. She followed that with a first-team selection in 2003. Then, in 2004, <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-soccer/mtt/azevedo_holly00.html">… Azevedo</a> (first team) and <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-soccer/mtt/makoski_manya00.html">… Makoski</a> (second team) each were honored by CoSIDA. Last season, <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-soccer/mtt/bingham_kim00.html">Kim Bingham</a> was a third-team selection.</p>
