Soccer's Felts earns Academic First Team All-America accolades from CoSIDA

TEMPE, Ariz. - Senior Kyleyn Felts, a defender on the Arizona State soccer team, was honored by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) as an ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America First Team selection after being chosen to the Academic All-District VIII First Team three weeks ago.

Felts, who carries a 4.0 GPA in graphic design, earned her first Academic All-America honor Tuesday. She is one of only two student-athletes from the Pac-10 conference to receive the honors this season.

The national honor made her just the fifth different Sun Devil to achieve Academic All-America status from CoSIDA and is the third student-athlete to be named to the first team. ASU first landed a student-athlete on the list in 2002 when Amy LePeilbet garnered third-team accolades. She followed that with a first-team selection in 2003. Then, in 2004, Holly Azevedo (first team) and Manya Makoski (second team) each were honored by CoSIDA. Last season, Kim Bingham was a third-team selection.
