Soccer wins 7v7 Tournament in Tucson

See below for Sun Devil assistant coach <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-soccer/mtt/quinn_blair00.html">Bl… Quinn's</a> game-by-game recap...</p><separator></separator><p>The tournament started with a bang for the Devils, who beat Embry-Riddle University 10-1 in Game 1.</p><separator></separator><p>In Game 2, the Devils took on Division II Grand Canyon University and won 5-0.</p><separator></separator><p>Game 3 was a battle and the toughest game of the day, but the Devils managed to beat the University of Texas-El Paso (UTEP) 2-1.</p><separator></separator><p>In their fourth game of the day the Devils found themselves playing a women's club team from Banat Soccer Club, which ASU defeated 6-0 for their second shutout of the afternoon.</p><separator></separator><p>And in the final game of the afternoon, the Sun Devils took on host Arizona. ASU got on the scoreboard quickly, with <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-soccer/mtt/volpe_karin00.html">Ka… Volpe</a> scoring about 12 seconds into the game. However, UofA answered right back to tie the game at 1-1 inside of the first minute. But the next 29 minutes it was all Devils as they pulled away for a 6-1 victory and the 7v7 tournament crown.</p><separator></separator><p>Notes:</p><separator></separator><p>• Every healthy Sun Devil that played scored at least 1 goal on Saturday (Volpe-6, Shoquist-5, Elston-4, Tinnin-2, Mollay-2, Johns-2, Freeman-2, Sangster-2, McCarter-1, Giovanni-1, Joseph-1, Shane-1).</p><separator></separator><p>• ASU scored 29 goals in 5 games on Saturday, while conceding only 3.</p><separator></separator><p>• Next up for the Devils: vs. Cal Poly SLO on Sat., Apr. 10 in Temecula, Caif.
