Popescue leads ASU softball over Creighton

Popescue moves to 5-1 on the year as the Sun Devils now hold an 18-1 record on the year.<br /><br /><a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/mtt/lockwood_annie00.html"… Lockwood</a> got the party started in the first inning as she dug in with two on before taking a 2-1 pitch yard to left -center to bring ‘em all home with her fifth home run of the season to make it a quick 3-0. <br /><br />The fun really started in the second inning though as the Sun Devils rocked the scoreboard for seven more runs with two-RBI singles from <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/mtt/rogers_lesley00.html">… Rogers</a>, <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/mtt/donnenwirth_krista00.h… Donnenwirth</a> and <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/mtt/johnson_alix00.html">A… Johnson</a> to break it open with an 10-0 lead after just two complete.<br /><br />Popescue worked the magic in the circle as she struck out six to keep the Jays off-kilt throughout the eve as she cruised to her fifth win of the season to lead the Sun Devils to their 18th win on the year.<br /><br />The Sun Devil squad takes the field again tomorrow as they host Florida Gulf Coast at 7 p.m. in Tempe at Farrington Stadium.</p>
