Box Score

A one-hit complete game shutout by Mackenzie Popescue and a perfect 2-for-2 outing from Krista Donnenwirth gave the No. 7 ASU Softball all the boost they needed as they rolled to a 10-0(5) win over Creighton Tuesday night. Popescue moves to 5-1 on the year as the Sun Devils now hold an 18-1 record on the year.

Annie Lockwood got the party started in the first inning as she dug in with two on before taking a 2-1 pitch yard to left -center to bring ‘em all home with her fifth home run of the season to make it a quick 3-0.

The fun really started in the second inning though as the Sun Devils rocked the scoreboard for seven more runs with two-RBI singles from Lesley Rogers, Krista Donnenwirth and Alix Johnson to break it open with an 10-0 lead after just two complete.

Popescue worked the magic in the circle as she struck out six to keep the Jays off-kilt throughout the eve as she cruised to her fifth win of the season to lead the Sun Devils to their 18th win on the year.

The Sun Devil squad takes the field again tomorrow as they host Florida Gulf Coast at 7 p.m. in Tempe at Farrington Stadium.
