Pinckney finishes seventh at Isleworth Collegiate Invitational

Junior Scott Pinckney tied for seventh at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational after carding an even par 72 Tuesday, his lowest round of the tournament. The second-ranked men's golf team shot a combined 48-over par 912 (301-307-304) and ended the three-day tournament in 12th place.

Pinckney, who has placed in the top-10 in all three tournaments this season, finished with a 4-over par 220 (75-73-72). He tied for eighth at the Olympia Fields Invitational and tied for sixth at the PING/Golfweek Invitational.

Senior Knut Borsheim recorded a 6-over par 222 (70-75-77) and tied for 16th, while junior Jesper Kennegard tied for 43rd at 14-over par 230 (77-78-75). Senior Tristan Bierenbroodspot placed 69th at 26-over par 242 (81-81-80) and fellow classmate Braxton Marquez tied for 73rd after posting a 32-over par 248 (79-83-86).

No. 1 Oklahoma State took home the team title after posting a 17-over par 881 (291-289-301), followed by No. 8 Florida at 22-over par 886 (292-292-302) and No. 5 Stanford at 24-over par 888 (289-300-299). Alabama's Bud Cauley finished atop the individual leaderboard after carding a 5-under par 211 (69-70-72).

This was the final tournament of the fall season for the men's golf team. They begin the 2010 spring season at the Hilo Big Island Invitational in Hawaii, February 3-5.
