Petey Paramore named to Johnny Bench Award Watch List
<p> Arizona State University junior catcher and team captain <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/m-basebl/mtt/paramore_petey00.html"… Paramore</a> has been named to the Johnny Bench Award Watch List. This is the third straight season that Paramore has been on the watch list. The Coleman Company, along with AT&T and Papa John's Pizza give the award annually to the nation's top collegiate catcher.</p><separator></separator><p>Paramore (Allen, Texas) is a two-time First Team All-Pac-10 performer and was named First Team Academic All-Pac-10 last year. He hit .379 with six homers and 52 RBI a season ago, leading the Pac-10 with 53 walks.</p><separator></separator><p>Paramore is one of 36 catchers from 22 conferences nominated and is one of only two catchers from the Pac-10. Former ASU catcher <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/m-basebl/mtt/gosewisch_tuffy00.html… Gosewisch</a> was a semi-finalist for the award in both 2004 and 2005.</p>
