Pair of juniors keep men's golf in contention

The third-ranked men's golf team remains in seventh place after shooting an 8-over par 363 in the second round of the Battle at the Beach in Newport Coast, Calif. The Sun Devils have carded a 12-over par 722 (359-363) over two days and are 19 strokes behind tournament leader Oregon State.

Scott Pinckney fired a 1-under par 70 for the second day in a row and is tied for sixth with a 2-under par 140 (70-70). Jesper Kennegard is tied for 20th at an even par 142 (71-71) after shooting an even par 71 in the second round. James Byrne is tied for 36th at 3-over par 145 (72-73) and Knut Borsheim shot a 2-over par 73 and is tied for 44th (73-73). Jin Song sits tied for 57th with an 8-over par 150 (73-77) and Thomas Buran is tied for 65th at 9-over par 151 (75-76).

The Sun Devils shot a 4-over 359 in the opening round  of the meet on Sunday. Feb. 14. The team has since been locked in seventh place.
