No. 16 Sun Devils head to Pac-10 Championships
This Week:
The No. 16 Arizona State women's swimming team heads to Long Beach, Calif., this week to compete in the Pac-10 Championships. The Championships begin Wednesday Feb. 27 and conclude on Saturday Mar. 1. The Sun Devils will be competing against Arizona, California, Oregon State, Stanford, UCLA, USC, Washington and Washington State.

Last Year at Pac-10s:
The Arizona State women's swimming team finished sixth at last year's Pac-10 Championships. The Sun Devils broke five school records and had 14 NCAA qualifying times during last year's championships. The 200 medley relay team of Carissa Abe, Sara McDaniel, Caitlin AndrewJen Beckberger set a new ASU standard of 1:40.08. That record was later broken at the NCAA championships. Andrew set ASU's new 50 free record at 22.39. Andrew later improved on her own 100 free record with her lead-off time of 49.33 in the 400 free relay. The 400 free relay team of Andrew, Beckberger, Lindsey Brown and Abra Armour set a new ASU standard of 3:18.38. The team of Andrew, Beckberger, Jess Perazzo and Abra Armour broke ASU's record in the 200 free with the new standard set at 1:30.84. Both of the free relay records were broken this season.

Senior Caitlin Andrew currently holds five individual ASU records. Last season, the senior from San Antonio, Texas set the new standard in the 50 free (22.39), 100 free (48.50), 100 back (53.68) and 100 fly (52.02). This season, she set a new ASU record in the 200 back (1:56.77) at the Texas Invitational this past December.
Best of the Best:
The women's 200 and 400 free relay teams broke ASU's current records this season. The team of Andrew, Jen Beckberger, Lindsey Brown and Jess Perazzo set the new bar at 3:15.96 in the 400 and 1:29.87 in the 200. Their time in the 200 free is currently the fastest collegiate time this season.
Rewriting the Record Books:
This season, the Sun Devils have completely altered ASU's all-time lists. Four school records have been broken. The relay team of Andrew, Beckberger, Perazzo and Brown set two new school records in the 200 free relay (1:29.87) and 400 free relay (3:15.96). After clocking in a time of 1:56.77, Andrew also set a new standard for ASU in the 200 back. Andrew also currently holds ASU's records in the 50 free (22.39), 100 free (48.50), 100 back (53.68) and 100 fly (52.02). Olympic Hopefuls:
Seven Sun Devil women have qualified for the Olympic Trials. Five will attempt to represent the United States while two are competing to represent their native Canada. Andrew (50 free, 100 free, 100 fly), Ashton Aubry (200 free, 100 fly, 200 fly), Lindsey Brown (100 free), Ashley Evans (200 IM) and Ellis Schieman (200 fly, 400 free) have qualified for the U.S. Olympic Team Trials which will be held June 29-July 6 in Omaha, Neb. Jen Beckberger (50 free, 100 free, 200 free) and Shannon Garrett (400 free, 800 free) have qualified for the Canadian Olympic Trials.
