Nixon named again First Team Academic All-District VIII

Arizona State University football student-athlete Mike Nixon has been named a First Team Academic All-District VIII selection by ESPN The Magazine. This is the second straight season the junior linebacker from Phoenix has earned the honor.

Nixon, who was also a First Team Academic All-Pac-10 selection in 2007, leads the Sun Devils with 65 total tackles, good for third in the conference. The Sunnyslope High School product has recorded five tackles for loss, a sack and has intercepted two passes so far this season. Nixon carries a 4.05 GPA as a political science major.
