Munoz named an ESPN The Magazine First-Team Academic All-American

For the second consecutive year, women's golf star Azahara Munoz has been named an ESPN the Magazine Academic All-American First-Team for the women's at-large section. Munoz, who is arguably one of Arizona State's most decorated scholar athletes, recently graduated from ASU with a 3.98 in psychology. She was the first double winner of the Edith Munson Cummings award, given to the All-American with the highest GPA. A three-time NGCA All-American Scholar, Munoz was recently named Scholar of the Year by the Pac-10 for women's golf and is a three-time Pac-10 All-Academic First-Team selection.

Not only did Munoz shine in the classroom during her time at ASU, she also had one of the most successful collegiate career in ASU women's golf prestigious history. Munoz was crowned the 2008 NCAA Champion after nailing a 25-foot putt to win a playoff and followed that performance up her senior by leading the Sun Devils to their first NCAA Championship in 11 years. She is a four-time NGCA All-American and four-time All-Pac-10 selection.
