Miller's two slams keep No. 1 softball's win streak

Kristen Miller went 2-for-2 with two grand slams, three runs scored and eight RBIs on Sunday while Megan Elliott pitched a one-hit complete game shutout to wrap the Diamond Devil Invitational Sunday afternoon with a 14-0 five inning win over the San Diego Toreros. The win puts ASU's record at 27-1 overall as well as giving them a school-record 24 consecutive wins and their fourth tournament title this season.

The was no question who was in control in ASU's game versus the San Diego Toreros as the Sun Devils came out blazing putting four runs on the board in the first with a grand slam from Kristen Miller. ASU never looked back as well, adding another scored run by Miller in the third and adding six in the fourth with Miller's second grand slam of the day as ASU cruised to a 14-0 win in five innings.

While Miller backed the offensive fire power, hitting her seventh and eighth home run of the season, which now ties her for the team high with Mindy Cowles, Megan Elliott also starred for ASU, pitching a phenomenal one-hit complete game shutout of the Toreros with six strikeouts for her third shutout of the season. Miller's eight RBIs are the most from a Sun Devil in a single game since March 16, 2006 when Mindy Cowles hit three home runs for 10 RBIs against UTEP in Tempe.

Sunday wrapped ASU's home tournament slate as next up they will host Santa Clara in a three game series next weekend on Friday March 14 & 15. Friday's game will be at 7 p.m. and will be a `Pink Out' game to raise Breast Cancer awareness. Fans wearing pink will be given admission for $2.
