Men's swimming finishes strong at Pac-10 Championships

The Arizona State men’s swimming team ended the 2011 Pac-10 Championships on a high note with six Sun Devils swimming NCAA consideration times on Saturday. Overall, Arizona State finished in fifth place at the conference championships with a score of 273. Stanford took first place for the 30th time overall with a score of 911.<separator></separator>Sophomore <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/c-swim/mtt/veazey_caleb00.html">Cal… Veazey</a> and freshman <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/c-swim/mtt/thomas_hayden00.html">Ha… Thomas</a> excelled for the Sun Devils in the 1650 free. Earning NCAA consideration times, Veazy finished 11th overall with a time of 15:31.05, while Thomas finished with a time of 15:58.75.<separator></separator>The Arizona State “A” relay of senior <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/c-swim/mtt/ruane_nolan00.html">Nolan Ruane</a>, junior <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/c-swim/mtt/yamashita_yutaro00.html"… Yamashita</a>, freshman <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/c-swim/mtt/jurgs_daniel00.html">Dan… Jurgs</a> and junior <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/c-swim/mtt/akesson_jesper00.html">J… Akesson</a> finished the 400 free relay with an NCAA consideration time of 2:59.33 to finish in sixth place.<separator></separator>Freshman <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/c-swim/mtt/adalsteinsson_david00.ht… Adalsteinsson</a> finished in 15th in the 200 back finals with a time of 1:47.63. Fellow freshman <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/c-swim/mtt/glander_ryan00.html">Ryan Glander</a> touched in with a time of 1:48.09 to finish in 16th in the same event.<separator></separator>Yamashita finished in 13th place in the 200 fly finals with a time of 1:48.91
